The item includes MW Steel’s conical Dual Plenum intake manifold DIY build kit specific to a Toyota 1ZZ-FE engine.
This DP-intake manifold’s operation is based on Swiss physicist Bernoulli’s Principle, whereby in a tapered/conical pipe, the pressure of liquids and gases decreases while their flow speed increases. This effect results in uniform pressure and air flow distribution across all cylinders for maximum power, torque and engine longevity. With all cylinders receiving equal amount of air, they can be set with the same optimized ignition advances. As a consequence, the engine will run harmoniously pushing out full power, and making it easier to avoid knocking and other non-desired effects compromising engine reliability and lifetime.
The build kit components are of lightweight, strong, corrosion resistant and highly machinable and weldable high quality Al-6082 grade aluminum alloy, which is 5 times stronger than pure aluminum. The cone tube can be flexibly placed on the pressure box, facing front or back, depending on the boost pipe entry side, and left or right, according to available space in the engine compartment.
The delivery includes cone tube covers for both ends: flow-optimised end cap for narrow end and cover plate for inlet side, as well as a support rod for cone’s exit slit feeding air to pressure box for preventing the slit from expanding under extreme high pressure conditions. Detailed instructions for building the kit and welding are also included.
The following parts for a Toyota 1ZZ-FE engine Dual Plenum intake manifold are included:
- CNC-machined engine-specific intake manifold flange
- pressure box halves forming the secondary plenum
- 4 pcs. profiled runner pipes between intake manifold flange and pressure box
- 4 pcs. velocity cones to enhance air flow inside pressure box
- conical tube forming the primary plenum
- flow-optimised end cup (narrow end) and cover plate (inlet end) for cone tube ends
- support rod for cone tube air exit slit
- detailed build and weld instructions
