This item includes a complete WRC-style Dual Plenum intake manifold DIY build kit for a 3S-GTE engine.
MW Steel’s Dual Plane intake manifold delivers uniform pressure and air flow to all cylinders for maximum engine power, torque and longevity. The uniformity is based on Swiss physicist Bernoulli’s Principle, wherebyĀ in a tapered/conical pipe, pressure decreases while the flow rate of liquids and gases increases. The engine is easier to tune when all cylinders revceive the same amount of air and can be set e.g. with commonly optimised ignition advance values, vs. setting them according to the cylinder with the lowest air flow ratio (AFR). The engine will run harmoniously, making it easier to avoid knocking and other adverse effects reducing reliability and engine lifetime.
The components of the intake manifold are made from lightweight, strong and highly weldable Al-6028 aluminium alloy 5 times stronger than pure aluminium. The cone housing can be flexibly positioned on the pressure box for optimised use ofĀ spaceĀ in the engine compartment.
The delivery includes a fill kit for the assembly of a complete Dual Plane intake manifold for a 3S-GTE engine:
- CNC-machined precision-fit intake manifold flange with runners for connecing to pressure box
- weldable pressure box halves forming the secondary plenum with compatible velocity cones
- conical tube forming the primary plenum with support bracket and end caps
- 75 mm / 3″ DBW throttle body flange
Detailed instructions for machining and welding are included.
The aluminum alloy components require AC-TIG welding.
