Description
WRC-style Dual Plenum 2-chamber intake manifold DIY build kit comprising a conical tube (primary chamber) and pressure box (secondary chamber). This intake manifold delivers uniform pressure and air flow across all cylinders for maximum engine power, torque and longevity. The uniformity is based on Swiss physicist Bernoulli’s Principle, whereby in a tapered/conical pipe, pressure decreases while the flow rate of liquids and gases increases. The engine is easier to tune when all cylinders receive the same amount of air and can thus be set with optimized common ignition advances, vs. setting them according to the cylinder with the lowest air flow ratio (AFR). The engine will run harmoniously, making it easier to avoid knocking and other adverse effects reducing reliability and engine lifetime.
The components of the intake manifold are made from lightweight, strong, corrosion resistant and highly machinable and weldable Al-6082 aluminium alloy, which is 5 times stronger than pure aluminum. The cone tube can be flexibly positioned on the pressure box for optimized use of space in the engine compartment.
The delivery includes all necessary parts including the cone tube support piece and end caps, as well as detailed instructions for machining and welding. This 440 mm kit is recommended for 3 and 4-cylinder as well as V8 engines. For V8 engines, order 2 pieces of 440 mm /17.3″ build kits.
